Do you think Chester is small??

My husband thinks Chester should be bigger for 5 months.. he's about 30 lbs..and it's a solid/compact 30 lbs, not real tall. I just think it's normal, as most bulldogs I see are short and wide It seems like he grew quickly from when we got him at 9 weeks, until about 2 weeks ago. Do they have growth spurts?

Do you have a recent full body picture?

His bloodlines will depend on his shape and size too. Our jesse was about 30lbs at 5 months, she's a girl though, and short and stocky! But some bullies will weigh more if they are long legged too. Depends. Average make is 55lbs at age two, when they reach their full adult size. Females is 45lbs. Could vary 10lbs on either sex. Hope you can upload a picture!

Stomper was 38 pounds at 4 months..She was gaining so fast I took her off puppy food at 4 1/2 months..

Geez it is HARD getting a pic of him standing still for 2 seconds my Shih Tzu is in the background.. to give a little bit of reference.. I think he looks wider in person than he does in this pic.

I think he looks great Lisa. Through the first year he will go through stages where he looks long legged, or like his head is too small. Most bullies go through funny stages where you think "hey, this bully looks nothing like the parents!!!" Speaking of, what do the mom and dad look like? Are they short and stocky or tall and slightly narrower?

I can tell he is broad, but the photo does not show it from the angle. I would maybe give him a half a cup more food a day if you think he is a bit small. maybe add a spoonful canned food or pumpkin to entice him to eat a bit more if he does not eat all of his food.

Oh his mother was definitely short and wide.. I can't remember about his Dad.. he has Dad's markings and Mom's build I think. We feed him the ?Nature's Logic (threw bag away..but I know it's Nature's something or other). I am going to try that salmon oil and pumpkin though as you mentioned previously. He's spoiled beyond belief..what's a little more spoiling..though our daughter's are getting jealous

Our Sargent is 5 Months to the day he is about 38 lbs. he seems to of have leveled off for the time being, for a lil while he was gaining like 8 lbs a week and we could almost see him growing from one day to the next. pictures in album.

I have 2 bulldogs and they are complete opposite in size. Vegas is 2 and 1/2 and he weighs 68 pounds. He is taller and longer that what you typically see in a bulldog. Orion, on the other hand, is so incredibly small. She is 11 months old and weighs 31 pounds. She is petite in every way............EXCEPT her attitude. If we could weigh that, she'd be overweight.
