I think I got suckered by Arnold. We have officially had him a week and on the seocnd night I let him sleep with us. Is this bad? arnold vs shoe.jpg

No, its not bad, IF you want a bully sleeping with you for the rest of it's life!
Princess Gracie chooses not to sleep with us, but rather sleeps in her own bed which is next to ours.

I guess it depends on who you ask LOL I don't think there is anything wrong with it. My Samson has slept with me since the day I brought him home as a little puppy and here 5 years later he still sleeps me. I suggest buying a set of stairs for him to get in and out of bed so he doesn't injure himself jumping off.

I never thought I would have a dog sleep with me, especially a farting snoring one :barf:. But he is so dang cute!!

As long as he is on good food he shouldn't fart too much but it will definitely happen no matter what so be prepared! And I agree with Bruce, once you start it's a hard habit to break. Samson believes he belongs in bed just as much as I do.

my babies have both slept with me from almost the day we brought them home. Sebastian lasted in his crate about a week and then we brought Oliver home 3 weeks later and then they were in there together for about a week and now they are both in my bed.

He is still on the same food when I got him (he has been home for a week). It is Purina One large puppy for now. When I took him to the vet (who is the Bulldog specialist in my area), I expressed my concern about his food after reading all the posts on EBN. The vet told me to leave it for now, so as to not change to much and he seemed to be tolerating. However, he seems to have had an upset stomach 2 x at night, like he was real restless and making a weird noise, not a whine but not a bark either. He is pretty gasey at times. I was thinking of switching him to Royal Cannin (sp?) bulldog puppy formula. Any advice

Both of my bullies sleep with me in bed, and have since the first day the came home :) that is where they belong in my opinion. I couldn't make them sleep in their crate :( That being said they a big bed hogs though!! LOL
On another note I would change his food to a high quality one BEFORE any issues a rise....

Violet sleeps in her kennel because she can not get comfy anywhere else. She moves all over the place lol. I did sleep with her mommy :)

Vets never seem too interested in discussing nutrition LOL I would suggest switching to a high quality food ASAP, just do so slowly, that should prevent any issues. I had my Samson on a not so good food during his first year and issues did not arise until he was 1 year old, so just because he seems to be doing ok now that doesn't mean issues won't arise in the near future. There are alot of great foods out there, while one food may work well for one bully it may not for another. Some popular choies for EBN members are Fromm, Nature's Logic, Nature's Variety Instinct, Natural Balance, Avoderm.

(I would adivse against Royal Canin, high price for a less than mediocre food)

Which one has puppy formula or is that not important?

You are safe with a puppy formula or one of the all life stages formulas. Like Fromm has both puppy formulas and all life stages formulas, the Gold Nutrional line has a puppy formula and the Four Star line is all All Life Stages formulas (the four star line a bit higher quality than the gold nutrional). The Nature's Variety Instinct formulas are all All Life Stages, Avoderm offers a puppy food, Natural Balance has a puppy food but if you choose them I would go with one of there LID (limited ingredient diet) formulas and those are all All Life Stages. I'm not sure about Natures Logic. Oh and I forgot to add Taste Of The Wild, thats anther popular choice and their foods are also All Life Stages.

My EB and Shih Tzu sleep with me. But my hubby only allows them on MY side of the bed. I'm super thankful for a king size bed. Mine are great sleepers though. They lay & stay. I have to force them to get up in the a.m. to go out to potty.

Jack sleeps in his crate ...

I dont think my wife would want to sleep with someone that snores, farts and is hairy...

and has 4 legs.! :tease:
