Hilda was diagnosed with demodex at 5 months ,she out grew the patch but unfortunatly has developed a few more patches she is 12 months old now,there has been so much stress here so I know what has caused her mite population to take over,even tho she is raw fed her immune system has dipped ,here is what I have been doing to help her through this time.
quercetin supplement ( natural antihistamine)
primrose oil
borage oil
msm
transfer factor
I am also awaiting a delivery of nu stock which will help kill the mites ( all natural)
i bath her weekly in dr bronners soap with tea tree,after 3 weeks of these supplements her itching is all but gone ,we are not out of the woods yet ,but remember keeping mites down to a normal population must start with the immune system ,dips and drugs only damage the immune system especially in a pup or young dog ,I hope this post helps anyone with an itchy dog and not just a demodex dog
