Deep Corneal Ulcer - Emergency surgery in the morning :(

Just checking in to see how things are today ? :) not sure if they gave you a cone.. this was our biggest WAR with Duke after surgery.. ha ha he HATED it!

:) I am glad Samson had a successful surgery! Now, time for recovery! Our prayers for you and Samson were answered!!:happydance:

He's doing good today, giving meds, pain killer, drops or cleaning the area what seems like every 10 minutes. :) he does have a comfy cone but won't lay down with it on so unless we're putting drops in we switched to an inflatable collar - and it prevents him from messing with his eye.

Hope he's continuing to do well! Anesthesia is so scary! Glad everything worked out! :)

So glad to see he is doing well.

Samson went on his first post op walk today - and he was so happy to get out of the house! He's doing pretty good and the swelling around his eye has gone down. He goes back to the eye doctor on May 3rd to get the stitches out.

Glad everything came out OK. When Wilson had a large corneal ulcer they sewed his eye closed for two weeks! You're past the hard part now. Just a lot of TLC from here on.

great news!! :)

i missed all this but glad to hear samson has made it through surgery! so stressful...glad he's ok.

Here's Samson in the inflatable collar - kinda looks like he's on his way to a pool party. He doesn't mess with his eye when he has this on, and it allows him to sleep unlike the cone.
