I totally Understand and I appreciate it! But I think it could have been said differently. Cooper is my baby and I do watch him like a hawk. My son is not a baby he is 2..if he was a baby I pry could trust him more in the house for a couple minutes if he was in crib but he is 2 and naughty!!! Most of the time I take Cooper out and he is not on the chain. Like I said this video was not intended for telling everyone I chain cooper up. I have always had a fenced in yard so I haven't had to worry much about chaining my dogs up. Cooper has only been on the chain a month or so and like I said I watch him ...I have a sliding glass door he goes out onto the deck and I watch him the whole time. Most of the time he goes out pees and come right back in. As I have been told we are texting each other and not saying stuff in person so you have to be careful of what you say and how you say it.

Meg I dont think everyone was jumping all over you, just concerned for coops safety. Try not to take it so. I will be watching this thread to make sure it does not get out of hand.

btw I loved seeing coop in seeing all his markings. He sure is pretty!

Thanks Lisa! I guess I was just a little shocked at responses I got ...seem nothing was said about the video just them more into the fact I chain my dog up. I want everyone to know I watch him and I do know the risk...

Yes Cooper is such a glorious looking dog and has very pretty colorings. I'm concerned he will hurt himself falling from the steps though. It's so sad to see a limping dog. It's so worth taking every step to prevent it. I've never chained up any dogs myself cuz I always had an enclosed yard.

Yeah I know I miss our fenced in yard.... I am so afraid he is going to hurt himself on that swing set...Those stairs are so slanted up I can't even believe he can get up them. And now he has like OCD of getting up those steps every time he goes outside. And I have neighbor kids constantly on the swing set so even if he didn't go up when kids weren't on it...it is impossible to not have kids running around. He gets so excited and hyper when he see the kids and that tunnel slide is his arch nemesis! He has even attemped to go up the rock climb thing on the other side and if he could happen to make it up it he would so fall over the top into the ground. It has a rope on it and He likes tugging t the rope. I really only chain him when I need to...if my son is eating or doing something I can't or don't want to interrupt then I have t chain him. Coop is a jumper as I said before so he is always trying to get on things or jump over them...i think he thinks he is superman.. There isn't much he can get tangled on either he walwas just goes down and does his business cuz he knows he can't leave the yard when he is chained. I have no worried or gotten nervous what so ever with him being tied up.

My 13 year old shih tzu got hit by a car as I stated in a previous post and he really wasn't even on the road he was on the edge of the grass and he was at my aunts house who is in a wheel chair because I was at a holiday think and he LOVED going and seeing her. He was the best dog and so well trained and then that car had to come and hit him. Right after they stopped at a stop sign and then turned my aunts house was right on that turn so they had to have floored it. It was the worst thing ever and I will forever have that imagine of him in my head lying on the ground. He was my baby!

Just wanted to add that I loved the video! Sorry I didn't say it right away. It's one of the cutest videos right next to [MENTION=4285]GRACIE11[/MENTION] 's exercise video ! My eyes were glued on Cooper and I didn't realize what a gorgeous dog he is and that's he's so tight with the kids and obviously looks like he's just another little brother in the family trying to play along with them. Kids are beautiful and happy and it looked to be a wonderful day of outdoor play and thanks for sharing that part of your life with us. I know I'm a little paranoid when it comes to my bulldogs because I've been in and out of the vets.

I left BabyGirl and Louie outside one morning to play while I made breakfast and when I called them back in BabyGirl was limping and I was so mad at myself for not being there and that I could of prevented it but you know "s***" happens and even though they are in an enclosed yard with nothing but 3 sad looking miniature citrus trees BabyGirl got hurt. She's mending now but I still feel bad and can't bear to see any of my fur kids in any discomfort. So it's the "gotta be careful" in me that spoke up first. So that's where I was coming from. And as far as the chain idea...I have bad memories of my mother chaining up our dog in the garage and upon returning we found him hanging ... so I would be very leery of using one.

Cooper's coloring reminds me of Cesar Millan's Mr. President. Is that what you call a fawn brindle pattern?

Yeah it probably look as if my yard was fenced it but that is the neighbor behind us with the fence. he use to be so good and I could watch him and then if he started leaving the yard I would yell for him to come back and he always came. The older he get the more independent he get and thinks he can do what he want. he totally ignores me now....well most of the time. Yeah he has a little fawn in him. like black and fawn tiger stripes kinda. But you saw the pic of his mom she is all brindle and she kinda has a little fawn in her and his dad is mainly white with a fawn eye patch I think. It is crazy how different looking all his litter mates are!

Cooper loves my kids. Actually Cooper is all up on my son right now while they are both sleeping. He always need ot be touching some one. He is such a lovey dovey cuddling bully. When I am on the computer he will come up and sit by me on the couch get half way on my lap and put his head on my shoulder and we are cheek to cheek. It is so funny cause he is my baby and I truly believe he thinks he is also......If you can't tell in the video when they were going for the 2nd time on the slide Brooklyn gets afraid of him. He gets too excited and jump on her all the time and it freaks her out. The day before last she was screaming and crying bloody murder cause he kept chasing her. He is just playing but he is strong and she doesn't know what to do. My son can get very rough with him and Cooper bit him the other day on the arm...i have no clue what Dayton did to him but Dayton came running and crying with a black and blue arm and 4 teeth marks. I felt so bad and I look at cooper and he is chewing on his antler like nothing happened. I have never had a pet bite my kids or even think they would bite any kid. I do feel bad though cuz dayton gets rough and I do want cooper to stand up for himself...he usually gives Dayton the warning growl or groan that says that hurts or stop it. Him and Dayton are BFF usually. And he loves Brooklyn....

I love that color! I don't see too many like him in the waiting area at my vets office. He's a bully specialist so there are always lots of bulldogs there. Mostly Red Brindle and white or all white with freckles. Occasionally a black and white one and those really stand out but like most of the dogs there they have allergies just like Mr. Wilson no matter how pretty they are.

Sorry Dayton got bitten. It's just the way some dogs play bite but seems like they grow out of it eventually. Dayton is just another puppy to Cooper. I've never been bitten by my dogs but my cats like to play bite me on occasion. It scares me when they grab my arm and bite and kick but I have to remind myself that it's just their way of accepting me in their cat existence so I slowly disengage myself from their claws. They play bite each other too but at least they have fur! Brooklyn reminds me of my niece when she was little and it seems typical for little girls to shriek and scream due to their sensitive natures. When my kids were small we had labradors. They were gentle but because they got so big so fast they would accidentally knock the kids down as they ran after the bubbles we were blowing for them. My kids were like little bowling pins literally being "bowled over" as the labs got to be 85 lbs big.

Cooper is a hoot! He loves the slide - he looks like he had a blast. Fun watching him enjoy himself and being happy - Keep him safe out there!

Chelsea loves playing on them at daycare but I figured I need to wait until the yard is all fenced in before I can do it. Chuy will be quite shocked playing in the backyard once we finally get it all fenced it... he likes to run away from her to the spots she can't reach in the yard. This is especially true in winter since Chelsea loves the snow and loves to tackle Chuy into the snow (Chuy is not a fan of the snow or such cold temperatures hopefully he will do better next year).

One thing you might want to try is using a bungee cord at the end of the chain... it works really great for Chelsea. When we first moved into the house and she was first on her chain, she would run all the way to the end and get flipped over... so we quickly added the bungee to eliminate it.

Thank You!! I will for sure get one of those. He usually doesn't run and do that cause his chain is so long he can go into the neighbors yard (the cool neighbors anyway lol) but I didn't even think about the bungee thing I always wondered what they did. Thanks for the tip! Can you buy dog playgrounds lol....I wish the steps weren't so narrow and the swingset wasn't so high cuz he is seriously obsessed....and he cries and cries when he can't go on it and he is chained! he cries when the kids are at the neighbors swing set too playing in the sand...he wants to be one of the kids!!!

[MENTION=4292]Cooper11[/MENTION] I understand why you chain up Cooper I have privacy fence but there is one little gap that my Yorkie can squeeze through. He has gotten out numerous times so we had to finally chain him up or watch him when he goes potty and with two small kids in the house sometimes that's not easy. I'm just lucky with Tess she's to Big to fit in that gap. Now just waiting for my husband to fix it. That can take years. Hahaha
