Hi all,

Our 7th month old little boy has cherry eye. The vets suggested antibiotics and steroids before looking at an operation. Has anyone had much luck with this prior to an op? We would like to make sure he’s in as little discomfort as possible.

Thank you! :)

Flip it back in...see youtube for directions. No need for medications. Cherry eye's usually appear when the blood pressure gets elevated...from excitement, exertion, romping, zoomies, etc.
just keep flipping it back and hope that it stays. If it doesn't, see an eye specialist for a proper correction. Do not leave this to your regular vet.

What Chip said! Many can just be massaged back in… there are videos on YouTube showing how.

I’ve massaged it back in when Nyala was a pup. It works till she go excited lol. That being said, it does usually works well on most dogs. When Nyala got spayed back when is when my vet simply did one stitch to keep it in. She 9 n never came out.

Antibiotics and steroids before looking at an operation is simply a vet trying to make $$$ off of you. Cherry eye is not dangerous what so ever. You most certainly can massage it back in and/or wait till you get your dog fixed 🤷🏼‍♀️
