Oh sure, take his side why don't ya He was being such a pill this morning. After busting him exploring around the tree, he wandered over to scratch at the back door wanting to go outside, so I would get up and open it to let him out and he would just walk away. Please mommy, let me out...no, change my mind...Two minutes later same thing, scratch scratch, please let me out...ah, no, change my mind again. He kept doing this over and over until the daylight broke. The sad part is, when he gives me that "I know I'm being bad but I'm such a cutie" look", I can't even scold him! He played me like a fine violin this morning. Got his way....again!

This is the universal....."I want something" in our house. Usually if they walk away it's because their water dish is too low. Vegas stands taller than O, so he can reach the bottom of the dish, but Orion likes to drink off the top. So if the water level drops lower than she cares for it to, she will scratch at the door until you get up to let her out....then she will sit her bootie inside the door and look up at you. It's a guessing game.

Mine go to the door to go out and then once they are out look back to see if I am coming too. In the morning at 5am no one goes out without me as their escort for whatever reason. They will sit there in the Arizona room until my feet come out that door.

[MENTION=572]Libra926[/MENTION] You know, his water dish WAS low!! and after I filled it, he ran over and had a good drink...and he has done this in the past but I never put two and two together to think its is his way of saying he wants something. I know from the past he has pulled the scratching at the door/backing off stunt but it was because he really wanted to play ball. OMG, you know my dog better than me!!

[MENTION=5404]dalmatina38[/MENTION] Henry is normally very precise in his schedule. Like clockwork, he normally wakes to go potty around 4:00 am. He steps out the door about 4 feet and does his business then runs back in, lol! I don't even have to close the door behind him. He's a speed pee & pooper, lol!! After potty break, he gets breakfast then will grab his ball because he knows its time to play catch downstairs for about half an hour. By the time we are finished, our other dog Molly drags her butt out of bed because she hears me making her breakfast. She won't get up until she hears the food hit her dish, haha!

I think Cheryl hit it on the nose. He woke early and wanted a drink and silly me didn't notice his water dish being so low. He was trying to tell me, but I was not bright enough to pick up on it!

Raven does the same thing when she has to go out at 5 am. The neighbors get a eye full of me with my big pink robe and my hair standing at all angles as I prop my sleeping self up against my car while miss thing goes potty.
