I need to rehome my 2 year old bulldog. Does anyone know of Agencies and/or Resources in Central Virginia?

I need to rehome my 2 year old bulldog. Does anyone know of Agencies and/or Resources in Central Virginia? I'd like to avoid the pound if at all possible.

do you mind me asking why you need to rehome. We lost our 13.5 year english bulldog and are looking for another one but would not like a puppy - thank you

Hello, I bought per insurance that ended denying everything he needs. He doesn't have to have, but would benefit from BOAS surgery and has allergies. I thought I was protected somewhat by getting insurance as soon as I got him as a puppy. However, it looks like I'm not protected at all. While I respect people who spend their money however they want, I'm don't find his care to be financially responsible.

From his end, he's spunky, friendly, and full of energy. I want him to get to where he's going so his new family can enjoy him at this fun stage/age.

Was he seen by a specialist that he needs BOAS surgery? Most of the time it’s just the soft palate. Just curious

For allergies usually it’s the food that needs to be tweaked. A protein that doesn’t work for him or grains. And there’s environmental.

I do think chicken is not his jam. He seems to be doing better on lamb. Almost all of his hair has grown back in.

He had breathing issues when he was younger and did see a specialist. They said he has a small trachea even for a bulldog and has a long soft palate.

We got a hit! We are meeting with an agency tomorrow morning. Thank you all so very much for your responses!

Try contacting local kennel clubs & ask them to spread the word. There is a large Kennel Club in Richmond.

On the Rebound is a rescue organization in Chesapeake, VA.

Send a PM to @oscarmayer who can help with suggestions and who is on this forum. I hope he comes through for you when you contact him.
