Allergy or new coat?

Noticed when I brushed Ace this morning with the slicker, he shredded quite a bit. I also noticed dandruff. His coat still feels very soft. Is this the time of year they start shedding an getting a new coat? I currently have him on Fromms puppy gold, salmon oil and nuvet plus. Nothing new has been added for me to suspect an allergy.

Sounds like the coat is blowing a bit, mine just started here too and the amount of hair is crazy!!!

Wwheew...was getting worried if it was an allergy. So when they blow out their new coat they also get dandruff?

Yes, you can use Selsun Blue for a bath to help curb the dandruff. Just don't use it regularly as it kinda makes the fur orangy tinted.

Thank you for this thread. Colossus has been blowing his coat/shedding heavily the last few weeks or so. How long does this normally last? Its strange, hes not going bald, but dang as much hair as hes losing he dang well should be.

Welcome in the adulthood -im dreading lilly coat shedding to -Shy my white girl sheds like crazy -when she was a pup i thought to myself "we must be lucky -white dog and shes mot shedding ....until her first birthday came ;-)

Same here with Hollys coat. We gave her a bath Sunday night and thought she was gonna clog up the bath tub with all the hair!
