This was posted on a rescue groups FB page. Edited to add, I have no idea if it is a good or bad thing. Just passing along information and others with more knowledge than me will hopefully comment.

Apparently Victors was bought out and the new ownership started using bloodmeal in the food which can be toxic to some dogs. Dogs have been hospitalized because of this change and Victor didn’t even reveal the change to the food. Victors is also not accepting responsibility for the danger and health issues that their food has caused. Evidently there is a whole FB group dedicated to discussing health problems caused by Victor dog food.

Thanks for the info, luckily we don't feed Victors to our dogs. WE tried it a long time ago, but they didn't care for it much.

There is one new member feeding her pup Victors. Hopefully the see your post.

I was using Victor for a while but when I got my new puppy recently the Breeder had her on Fromm so switched my older female to Fromm also.

YOKES!! Just so much dishonesty in our food companies... incredibly disheartening

My local pet food company just had a HUGE display for Victor's dog food. Is this something new to the USA?!!

Victors is made here in Texas and had a good reputation but now they have been bought out and as often happens, things change. Chumly was on it and liked it.

Today from the rescue group where I first heard about the above. Just an FYI

I just received an answer from Victors.
1. They have not sold out.
2. They have made some formula changes including Blood meal to some of their varieties. Some have always contained Blood Meal, but so far, Their Multipro has not been changed.
The Yellow bag has not changed.
