2 of our bullies want to kill each other!!!

Molly and Mandy cannot be together without fighting.

Molly has been with the family since she was a puppy, Mandy we purchased about 2 months ago from a member here who was moving and had to sell her.

They DO NOT GET ALONG- AT ALL!!!

We hate this, because we have to keep Mandy and Jesse together separately, and then Molly is with her pups. Okay, so we have it organized really well so each dog gets family time and play time, and outside time. But there are several problems with this!!!

1.) We want all of our dogs to be together so we can have bulldog time with all of them

2.) I think Molly misses Jesse, because Jesse is with Mandy most of the time now

3.) If we make a mistake and accidently let one out or one in, it is a huge fight that is hard to break up and someone is liable to get hurt!!!

4.) We thought if we gave them time, it would stop but it has not

5.) Mandy is the instigator most of the time, but Molly does attack if any of her human children (any of our 4 kids) are close by. Mandy does not in any way act this way towards Jesse, but she met Jesse when she (Jesse) was only 4 months old. Plus Jesse is just a sweetie, loves everything and everyone, she is what I would call the "happiest bully alive".

6.) We have found out a lot about Mandy's history, seems that we are her 3rd owner. She may have been taken from her first owner in a divorce action, and the first owner was crazy about her. We just found this out 2 days ago, the weird thing is the breeder found her by looking at our profile on facebook!!! She has been through a lot, so I cannot blame her for trying to be "alpha", and she probably does not even realize she won't be "moving" to another family again!

7.) Ever since Mandy got here, Molly has started itching. She ended up getting a severe bacterial infection on her skin, and it may have happened due to stress as part of the problem. We were very scared it was Mange, which it was not. (thank goodness!!!) She is slowly getting better, but we have also changed her food. She has NEVER had any allergies until Mandy arrived. Weird?

I have not posted anything on this previously because I thought it was something that would mend itself, but nothing is changing.

HELP US PLEASE!!! We need Ceasar Millan to come to our home!!!

Is Mandy altered? Do you know if she's previously been bred? I do agree that she's trying to be alpha as hard as possible, and Molly is reacting as well trying to maintain her "babysitter" role. Molly having had pups may either believe that she's now alpha or at least very close under her human parents.

The only thing that I would try is to have them both leashed and purposely allow them to see each other, from a 5-10 ft distance. If either of them show body language of dominance or agression it can be corrected quickly as you have full control with the leash.

No, Mandy is not altered, she is about 1.5 years old.

And yes, Molly is very close to our family. She is our most well behaved bully and listens so great- I swear she speaks full English! She is all about us, where we are is where she wants to be. I am certain that the first fight, when they met, was due to Molly being protective, and now Mandy is the instigator, probably more out of fear- since Molly did it first.

I know a lot of people who deal with this, especially breeders who have many dogs- but this is not the way we want our bullies to be. We want them to all be a part of our family, and all of us to be together. Is that too much to ask? Maybe.... but I think I need to seek out professional help. I wonder who to contact??

I know how sad it is to see them fight and possible hurt each other. I had the same problem with 2 doxies, both females, they started fighting a month or so after my male doxie died. It took about a year until I was able to have them together and still if I left the house I did not trust them alone
so would have to crate them. Lula died last year, she was 15yrs old and Didi died last month at 17yrs old they lived together since birth but I could
not say they were friends, only tolerated each other. It will time some time but this will pass.

Oh my gosh, I am of no help here but I feel for you. I cannot imagine how exhausting this must be on you and your family. Hopefully you wil get some good advice on the situation. It cant hurt to even apply for ceasar milans show.

Instead of a "dog trainer" keep your eyes peeled for a dog behaviour specialist, they would be able to help much more.

Two females can be a problem. For wild canines the pack alpha is most often a female. Part of it is all the hormones. I have a suggestion if you can implement it. If you have an appropriate place, use a barrier that they can see through that is strong enough to prevent actual contact. Then you can monitor the interaction and reprimand them both if they start to squabble. Molly is defending HER territory, HER pups and HER family. Mandy would like to be the alpha. How old are the pups? This situation may take a long while to resolve. Good luck.

How about making them spend time together, muzzled, just to get them used to sharing space? And have them do pack activities together, muzzled, such as walks.

Another idea would be to invest in Ceaser Milan's videos... I know he has dealt with this issue in some of his shows.

We have the same problem and did call an animal behaviorist and for $1500 she would help us. Don't think so!

Wow that is a lot of dough, but it may be worth it to have everyone together. I am going to try the suggestions I have recieved from our members first, and if that does not work we may have to resort to the specialist. We want bully love!

I have the same problem..........Someone told me to keep them apart at all times till the one who is starting the fight is totally obedience trained. I started with loose leash walking and having her stay by my side during the training. I have been doing this for a month and I have noticed a big difference. She is more focased on what I say. She can now be in the same room with her without freezing and staring. I really believe that only a few minutes a day to get her obedience trained does help at least it is for me. I will let you know what the next months training will be. I for one want them to get along. They have been friends since babies. They both had a litter of puppies and everything changed.
