g8erjackie as promised here is curly in his american apparel hoodie. It is a bit tight but not restricting. I think it may stretch over time

The American Apparel hoodie, can someone please pm me the link? I wanna get it but can't find it.

I can't get over the perfect fit. Love it on them.

Get the blue one and they can be twins. Hehe. Here is Ruckus in his hoodie last year.

Nice! I actually bought Ruckus another one with that deal, too -- the neon orange one to go with his Chicago Bears collar!

Post some picture of Curly with his new sweatshirt when it arrives!

What size did you end up ordering? Did you get it from the pets/american apparel?

YHSublime yes we purchased from pets american apparel. I ordered an XXL for curly and it is slightly tight on him. He is a bit overweight so if I can get him to come down in size I can make it fit (he's 73lbs)

I did buy an XL for my 51lb frenchbull dog/Boston terrier mix (he isn't over weight - just a huge dog for his mix) and its a bit too tight on him, so I'm hoping it will stretch a bit. He's such a chill dog he will wear anything.

Thanks! Taco is 50lbs, but he's under, but close to just right. XXL sounds like it should be ok, I don't want him to be uncomfortable.

YHSublime this is what the XXL looks on my 51 lb. He is about 20 in long and it kind of covered his manhood but I could easily roll up the waste once so it wasn't touching. It might not be a problem for you since an EB most of the time are significantly wider than him. Sorry he looks miserable, I woke him up to put it on him lol. He immediately went back to sleep

Cool, thanks so much for that! I think with the width it will be a better fit! I really appreciate all the help.

That’s a super common issue with bulldog builds, broad chest, shorter body, and most ā€œstandardā€ sizing just doesn’t account for that combo. Going up to XXL usually fixes the chest problem but then creates that awkward extra length in the back.

One option that’s worked well for bully owners is looking for brands that specifically design around chest girth rather than just scaling length. There are a few specialty shops now focusing on stocky breeds instead of generic sizing. One that’s worth checking is Supreme Dog Garage, you can visit here and see that their sizing leans more toward muscular and wide-chested dogs, which helps avoid that ā€œtoo long in the backā€ issue.

Also, coats with adjustable chest straps (Velcro + extended panels) tend to give more flexibility than fixed buckles. Some even have a shorter back cut but expanded chest panels, which sounds like exactly what Curly needs.

If nothing fits perfectly, a lot of owners still do minor tailoring but starting with a bulldog-specific fit usually means way less altering.
