Help Needed! Winston's nose rope is NASTY!!!

I noticed yesterday that Winston's nose rope was dirty... so I cleaned it out with a little soapy water on a warm washcloth. Dried it good, and put a little baby powder in there to dry it out some... This morning it looked worse, and I've been doing errands all day so I haven't had a chance to clean it out again yet. Is there something else I can put on it? It doesn't have a smell to it, but I'm not sure what it is?!! It's very damp in there...

Was it A brownish/coppery colored gook? If so, my guess would be yeast. Duoxo pads or anything with Chlorhexidine.

It's really worked with Blue for yeast and itching. Especially during allergy season.

Poor guy, does it look red and irritated? You could use Duoxo pads if you have some. Every once in a while one of Buster's folds on the left side gets red but the pads make it go away.

I agree on the duoxo pads, Tracey. Just be gentle in the folds cuz it could be irritating for little Winston and may cause him some discomfort. For regular day to day cleaning i use a little witch hazel on a cotton ball on Tate. His nose rope is deep and i need to dig in there once a day.

I do have the duoxo pads, so I will use them right away!!! I do think it's yeast unfortunately poor baby can't catch a break w/this rainy, cooler weather. We just dealt w/his eye a couple of weeks ago, and now this... You guys are lifesavers, DUH I should of thought about those pads!!! I swear I'm LOSING IT!!! LOL

I actually should have said it is my go to for all her cleaning... face, ears, paws, tail. Her ears I will flush with ACV as needed
