Pneumonia [emoji22] and maybe mega-e.... say a little prayer

So I took Regina to the vet tonight. She’s had a few hacking coughing fits this week that made her stomach convulse and it worried me because I mean throw up once sure maybe she overexerted herself playing or something, but this wasn’t right. And of course Regina wasn’t acting sick, normal crazy playful baby girl until the coughing fits but then back to normal.

Well she has pneumonia.... and the vet thought it looked like she maybe has an enlarged esophagus, possibly a slightly enlarged heart (although he said it’s really hard with dogs and X-rays with heart size...), and I think my heart sank. They’re sending the X-rays to be read by a specialist and I should know more tomorrow afternoon.

Say a little prayer that it’s just pneumonia and not any of the other things.

She was so nervous at the vet that Keith sat in the floor with her.

So I heard back from the vet...and the specialist said YES that her esophagus appears to be slightly enlarged [emoji22][emoji22] however he did say that he wanted to do more targeted X-rays when she heals from the pneumonia to see if it’s really enlarged or it was temporary.

I’m sort of just taking it all in that she really might have this issue. Out of an abundance of caution, we’re keeping here upright for a bit after she eats right now...
