Pneumonia [emoji22] and maybe mega-e.... say a little prayer

So I heard back from the vet...and the specialist said YES that her esophagus appears to be slightly enlarged [emoji22][emoji22] however he did say that he wanted to do more targeted X-rays when she heals from the pneumonia to see if it’s really enlarged or it was temporary.

I’m sort of just taking it all in that she really might have this issue. Out of an abundance of caution, we’re keeping here upright for a bit after she eats right now...

I’m waiting for the vet to call me back today. She doesn’t seem any better, I actually think her cough has gotten worse and she sounds just as congested as ever. I’m going to ask for a stronger antibiotic.

I know vets try to start will a lighter treatment but I’m just like ok time for the strong stuff. It’s heartbreaking her little cough is so pathetic and she looks so scared when it happens.

So I got a stronger antibiotic yesterday and a bronchodilator for Regina. Thankfully Keith’s dad was around and picked it up from the vet for me because I was swamped at work.

We gave her the new medicine with dinner last night and then about 40 minutes later she threw up most of her food. In bulldog parent style we dug through the puke looking for the medicine...I don’t think she threw it up, at least not the antibiotic. Maybe some of the bronchodilator because of how it dissolved. So far so good this morning. She coughed a lot but didn’t throw up her breakfast. She did make me hand feed her and I gladly indulged her.

Also you can add this mixture below wherever she sleeps. When Nyala was a pup she too was coughing plus she had green guk coming out of her eyes, nose n coughing that green thick slim. Vet gave her antibiotics. She sounded like a seal. After a couple days with the diffuser and that mix cleared her up. I kept the mix going for a good week just in case.

Respiratory/Colds ...Get a diffuser. Mine was on nights even above her kennel and you can also leave it on daytime. I leave it all day so when she's roaming around the house she gets to clear her lungs. I basically leave my diffuser on 24/7

8 drops of Eucalyptus
8. drops of Peppermint
8. drops of Lavender
5 drops of Lemon
2drops tea tree

We’re on the mend!!!! Regina tried to eat Ruckus’s breakfast yesterday after she devoured hers — and she hasn’t been wanting to eat much while sick — so I think she’s feeling a lot better! The congestion sounds better also!!! Woot woot. We’re going back for some follow up X-rays to check on the mega-e issue but since she’s feeling better and not having issues after eating that aren’t related to the coughing (well, we think) the vet thinks it was probably temporary.
