Hey Ya'll....I'm very sorry for not reintroducing myself when I came back on the forum a few weeks ago.

My name is Carmin and my partner and I found our precious girl Mona Lisa from a well known and well researched breeder in our area. She was 1 1/2 years old when we brought her into our lives, shortly after the passing of my beloved boxer, Gracie. Mona has put a light in our hearts that went dim when Gracie was sent to the rainbow bridge. We couldn't have functioned as human beings without her in our lives. Needless to say we are so very lucky to have her. Mona is now 5 years old and is a big girl. She goes to the vet for her annual check up the last Saturday of the month - hope she hasn't gained weight.

Anyway, sorry I started to babble. I'm now a full time college student with 1 semester left to get my 2 year degree. I'm 38 years old, hail from Atlanta, but have lived in California and Pennsylvania also. My partner works for the state. What else can I say? I enjoy this forum very much and look forward to getting to know everyone again, and their bullies, too.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome back!

Welcome back bluesteelpad :), from your neighbor across the river.

Glad to have you back.

Hello Carmin... welcome back to you and Mona Lisa!

Welcome back to the, umm :droolers: umm...fun people here!

Mona Lisa is as beautiful as her name. Have you tried cutting back
her kibble to a cup (or even 3/4 cup until she's at correct weight)
am & pm & adding 1/2 cup of unsalted green beans to each feeding?

Welcome back. I too have been away for a while due to personal reasons. But hope to be very active again real soon.

Mona Lisa is a cutie. Something about a smoochy face that makes you fall in love.

TexasCarol -thanks so much for the great advise! We are a green bean lovin family, that is FOR SURE!
We took Momo to a "bulldog" vet (as opposed to a 'regular' vet) and he said last year something about cutting back on her food wouldn't make a difference in her weight, only exercise would. Now this guy was short, but he was a daily swimmer and in excellent shape - but I had never been told that by a vet...any ideas?

Let's see what she weighs in at on 3-30, I'll keep ya'll posted.

P.S. I can't imagine a bulldog with greenbeans in their belly! OMG the gas has got to be unbelievable....Hell, it's bad now without the green beans.

Welcome Back ... looking forward to lots of pictures!!
