I've always wanted to create an app myself.

There are ways to make app's without any programming 'skilz'... http://gamesalad.com/

I'm going to be honest though... programming isn't that hard.. if anything its kind of boring (that's why most people don't do it ).

If you want to write an iPhone/Android app..
1) Get a book
2) Read book
3) Do examples in book
4) Google! (example: "how do i display an image on the iphone in objective-c" or "how do i display an image on Android in Java")
