My one year old bulldog is going through her first heat right now and has begun bleeding. I noticed a few days ago her straining when pooping and some blood in her stool. Her female parts were swollen already so I attributed it to being blood from her heat. Yesterday, she had a very foul odor coming from her rear end and a nodule in her anus. She is still in heat and is bleeding. The odor is atrocious and I believe it's coming from her rear end. Any ideas on what this can be?

It could be an anal gland leaking, anal gland infection, tail infection.... I would get her to the vet as soon as you can as she may require antibiotics.

I agree with Bullmama, she needs to see a vet rather sooner than later.

I will take to the vet asap. I feel so bad for her. Thank you...

I agree as well with others, its best to take her to the vet and let him assess what it is, it could also be a ruptured anal gland, which needs to be treated. I hope she feels better soon and it's nothing serious. Please keep us posted.

Poor baby...sending prayers and please, let us know her dx and
how she is doing after Vet visit.
