Natures Variety Instinct - Grain Free Raw Boost Kibble

Looking around because I am thinking about changing the stinkers food since Tyson's had soft poo on the Merrick's b4 Grain. I do occasionally give them some raw medallions by Natures Variety as an add on. I never realize that they have a kibble as well. I found the kibble on the 5 star list it I was wondering if anyone has used this food before. Reviews are greatly appreciated if you have used the kibble. Thanks.

I think Tracey [MENTION=9157]ddnene[/MENTION] has used the NVI raw food before, not sure if it's the exact same one you're looking at tho. Hopefully she will be able to give some feedback.

Thanks Henny. I have been giving them the raw medallions as an add on to the kibble and today I spent some time checking out the new foods as well as some of the other old brands. Never knew these guy did a kibble. Seems they have the grain free kibble as well as a gf kibble with raw boost. It's essentially their kibble with bits of their freeze dried chunks. Looked interesting.

NVI is good food. I haven't used it but several of my friends use it. The only thing I remember is that NVI has clay (good mineral source) which can cause constipation if the dog doesn't get good water intake.

Thanks [MENTION=2874]anatess[/MENTION] for reminding me about the clay. I saw it on the ingredient list and I was curious to know why it was on there. This is the first food that I have seen that on the list.

Yes I use NVI grain-free patties for my boxer Roxie. She's been sick, and having trouble on kibble so I switched her to the chicken patties. She's doing great on it, and now I'm giving her the beef. I highly recommend them, only downside is that they are expensive

Yeah they are. I can't afford to solely feed these two buggers that alone. Tyson eats like he has never seen food.

I've found that Lola eats less than a lb of nvi per day for her 54lb body. 4lb pellet bag lasts 6 days. I know it's not a lot of volume but it ends up costing less than the Canadian brands I was feeding by dollars a day.

I am going to order the dry with the raw boost. Every time I sit to order something comes up. I have time though because I have another big bag of their current food.

I have both of my bullies on Nature's Variety. Roxy is 5 and has been on the raw boost for about a year and a half. Initially she was on the venison formula, but she was a bit constipated on it so I switched her to the beef & lamb and she has been great. I had issues with acne & hot spots on Roxy, so I like that there are formulas that don't have chicken in them (which has proven to make her itchy). My younger bully is on the Nature's Variety Prairie which I also like because it has a lower protein content.
