I don't know what has been going wrong with my baby. His poor face is loosing hair and looks so swollen. I have been cleaning it every night and putting neosporine on it to make sure it doesn't get worse. I don't want to keep on giving him benadryl every day it probably isn't good. I am calling the doctor this morning to get some more antibiotics and prednisone :( 😱

Do you have a real Christmas tree by chance? I just put mine up last week and Brutus is allergic. Just a thought. Or if not celebrating Christmas, did you add or change anything else lately? even your laundry detergent?

Amanda, I'm going to suggest putting his enclosed travel crate away for
a week or two, maybe borrow someone's extra wire crate or buy one.
He may be rubbing his face on it and be very sensitive to the sprayed on
chemicals~flame retardant~ Is he having skin problems elsewhere and/or
allergy or other sensitivity symptoms?

Is is just one side of his face? Do you think he is rubbing it-perhaps he has something in his eye?

No we have a fake tree, and everything is the same. I called his doctor and his prescription will be ready tomorrow.

Hey carol! I just cleaned out his crate and just used the antibacterial wipes I use on his face and washed his bedding really good with hit water. I saw a few bald spots so after I clean his things I will be taking him a good bath to see if that helps. Do you know are suggest anything that I should add to his food?

Yeah it is just his left side. I checked and didn't notice anything. When I get hos medication hopefully it will heal.

What food do you have him on? It could also be food related.

If you have a magnify glass-take a look at the sore side of his face. Maybe he has a splinter, or something there that is bothering.Or mites... Try washing his eye with warm water. It seems like there is something on that side that bothers him-but not the other side?......Just a thought.

I thought food-but I thought odd that it was only one side? I guess symptoms can start anywhere.

I must have missed the part about only on one side, maybe an skin infection of some kind. Hopefully the vet can figure it out. If not have you tried Panalog ointment or some Chlorhexidine on it? that may help.

OUCH!! could it be a bug bite?

Thank you guys for responding! I just picked up his medication so we will be starting them tonight. I will keep you all updated.
