Taking Moe in today to have his cherry eye procedure. I believe we have the best vet on island to do this... she is the only eye specialist on island and has done many of these. She understands the concerns and risks of bringing a Bully under, and says she leaves the trach tube in longer for these type dogs to insure there are no breathing issues. So I have a good feeling about her doing the surgery... it is costing me $1,000 though :faint:

Oh my, please let us know as soon as it is over!! Big hug for you and Moe!

Sending best wishes and good thoughts to Moe! He's quite the trooper so he'll do fine.

On another note, wow, a grand? But it's well worth it!

Hope all goes well, wishing Moe a speedy recovery
 for you both from Lucy and I

Thanks for the wishes... having to drop him off made me realize how attached I am to the lil guy. The lil pig weighed in at 51 pounds. I'll provide an update when I hear that it went well

$1,000..... the cost of living in paradise?????
I can hardly believe that little wrinkle bug is 51 pounds! Im sitting here shaking my head in amazement... lol:wow:

Please keep us updated, Good thoughts and vibes coming your way!

Good thoughts coming out to Moe. Please keep us updated on how he does.

$1,000 wow! But it is well spent :).

Slobbery Kisses to Moe from Abby and Bella. Hope all goes well.

The vet just called... everything went well and he is waking up now. I can go pick him up in 90 min :whew:

Yep, this is the cost of living in Hawaii.... his normal vet was willing to do the surgery for $1,000 as well, but I figured that at that price I might as well go to a specialist that has more experience at this. We did find a vet willing to do this for $350, but later found out that she operates out of her home.... we drove by it and it looked really run down. Our neighbor tells us that they re-use needles... not sure if thats true or not, but scary none the less

OY! You did the right thing going to a specialist! Let us know how he is when you pick him up. I bet he will be sleepy :)

Glad he did okay, I am sure he is going to enjoy direct mommy and daddy time tonight....
