I am so sorry! Just seeing this..Jake has eaten a bee three times. I gave him Benadryl right away and he had only minor swelling. I think poor Matilda must be very allergic and you need to ask vet what you should keep on hand if it happens again. Something like the epi-pen for humans?? How frightening for you..I was so relieved to keep reading and see she was ok.

I'm so happy to hear that Matilda is doing better now. Poor girl but she's in a safe place w/people who know how to take good care of her.

Praying for Matilda to have a speedy recovery. So happy to hear she is stable. Sending hugs!

So glad to hear she is doing better, it's good they're keeping her overnight just to be safe. Now you can relax and get a good nights sleep and hopefully she'll be able to go home tomorrow. Will check back tomorrow to see how's she's doing. Will keep praying as well.

I am a sobbing mess in the lobby of the hospital.

Matilda had a random allergic reaction and her face swelled up. It was really bad and her eyes shut. We rushed her to the vet and they think she ate a bee. They gave her Benadryl and said she was stable but then her blood pressure started dropping and now I'm crying at the vet.

Its also not her normal vet, we were at my friends house in LA.

Has this happened to any of your babies? She usually sees an EB specialist and I am a panicked wreck!!!

Please tell me she will be ok!

I bet Matilda will be fine. I am glad you were able to quickly get her to a vet. I'm sure it must have been very scary seeing her face swell. I bet she will look better in the am. Prayers sent your way!

Praying for you AND your baby. Not too long ago I was in a panic at the emergency vet too and he spent the night. He was ok the next morning, so try to be calm...i know, I know. It's easy for me to say. Keep us updated!

Usko had the same awhile ago, but not as severe. i remember how worried I was, so I can relate. Hang in there, she will be fine in no time!

Just seeing this and further reading relieved me that she got stabilized, will keep both
of you in my prayers and hoping YOU get rest too.

Christmas Day, Brutus broke out in huge hives, no Vets open, most fortunately his face
& airways weren't affected and Benedryl helped, never knew what he got into, no new
foods or chew toys, it must have been a contact w/an allergen but what? I was a basket
case, EBN'ers held my hand & comforted me (I LOVE you guys (& girls) as they are doing
for you.

Agree w/the severity of her symptoms you need an EpiPen (if okay for dogs) on hand, always
Benedryl & lemon juice to squirt in mouth if phlgem closes it up. Give her smooshy kisses for us!

Looking forward to the update that tells us she's "back home with her peeps" and a-ok.

I've always been afraid that this would happen to Little Bea; she's such an avid bug-catcher / bug-chaser.
