Mama Riley... She came from a neglect situation where she was bred many times, was under weight, had skin issues, and is heartworm positive. A judge decided in a hearing for a Florida animal control agency's petition for custody for Riley and her three babies. Animal Control prevailed and owner rights have been terminated. She's a sweet angel in spite of her hard life and we're grateful to all the AC officers out there whose persistence and investigative skills result in outcomes like this. Riley is young, no older than 2 years old according to our vet. She now at a healthy weight, skin is MUCH better although she is allergy itchy, and has started pre-heartworm treatment antibiotics. She will begin heartworm treatment in a few weeks and then later a much needed spay. She is a lover and a snuggler, well mannered indoors, potty trained, loves hanging out in the yard, is good with cats (now that she has lived with three of them for over a month), enjoys toys and nylabones, loves car rides, gets along with most other dogs and likes to play with them. Riley truely has a beautiful soul. UPDATE: Now Riley's three pups are all weaned and going off to their new homes soon... What about mama? After heartworm treatment, she needs a local foster-to-adopt home or adoptive home. Will you be the one to give her the home she deserves?
