It is more like a shrine. I've had grandkids with me for almost 4 weeks now, 3 weeks here at my house. They arrived at different times and all left together yesterday. One of the things they did was fix up Mack's grave. Their ages range from 17 to 7. They are siblings and cousins!

Alice, it's so special and lovely that your grandkids were there to put together Mack's final resting place, and to be there with you and Ruggles too.
:angelheart:

That is very nice, you guys did a great job on it.

It looks lovely with the statue and rainbow bridge stone.

What a nice thing to share with your grandchildren. I'll bet your going to miss them keenly this week.

what a great job you all did...

That is very special that they did that for Mack.

The statue was pre-owned and given to me by a friend maybe 15 yrs. ago. The rocks and wood were collected by the kids when we walked Ruggles up Hurricane Creek and when we went to Wallowa Lake. They also picked wildflowers. I'll bring in the Rainbow Bridge plaque before the weather gets too cold. It's strange but our resident deer have been "camping in the field around Mack's grave. The little kids were looking forward to having tea parties with Mack like they always did so this took the place of the tea party. Ruggles is too rowdy to attend a tea party!

What a beautiful resting place they made for Mack. I can only imagine that it was hard for them too not having him there after seeing pictures of them and Mack over the years. A tea party, now that's beautiful too! How neat about the deer! :angelheart:

Everyone did a really great job on Mack's grave!

AWE... That is a beautiful tribute to him!!! So much more special that you had the grandkids help put it together too. Sounds like you have a VERY special family there. ;)
