Joey's Eye Issue UPDATE -- NEED INPUT PLEASE

I don't think anyone here would ever question your love for and devotion to Joey. I'm looking forward to hearing that the procedure was a success and she's on the mend. This has been a very trying ordeal at a very trying time. I hope you two sail right thru this with no issues!

Really Chip, thank you. I know that, I’m just scared. I’m going to get my sweet girl through this, we’re a team.

The support and kindness here is priceless!

Sending LOTS of prayer for you, Joey, and your Vet. I would definitely trust the veterinarian I have for my for my dogs to do any procedure that he says he can do, as I have had him for years. If you trust your vet, that is A good thing, and if she didn't feel confident, she would tell you, as I am sure by now, she knows how much you LOVE Joey. WE ALL love Joey and you! Big hugs for both of you!! All will be WELL, that I can tell! sisters3

Thanks friend! She’s not an ophthalmologist but is a sub specialty of hers, I looked for closest canine ophthalmologist and there is one about 4 hours from here. Of course we would travel days if needed. I really feel that if doc wasn’t sure she could treat her we would be sent elsewhere.

This has been her same vet all of her life. She’s done this procedure many times.

Joey snoring next to me now lol, saying hi to Castor!

Great that ophthamology is a sub-speciality of your vet's - then she knows if this is something she can treat! Wishing you a nice New Year's Eve with Joey! We have finished dinner and Castor got some nice fillet of beef so he was happy. Now some rest before dessert and then champagne at midnight!

Happy New Year to you and sweet Castor! Ohhhhh fillet for Castor! He must have enjoyed that so much!

Thanks for making me feel confident again So looking forward to getting Joey back to 100%!

Oh Joey is in good hands. She has a momma on the ball when it comes to our Joey. Don’t question yourself as you’re following the Vet’s opinion. But that being said, definitely Chip has many great points. Watch them red flags which I’m sure you’re on it.

Thanks Helene, your post means the world to me. Agree! Chip has several great points, not lost on me.

Sue, I am just now seeing this new thread. I hate to hear that poor Joeys healing journey is not over yet. I know incredibly stressful it is to make the choice to trust someone else with your babies health. It’s scary and all you want is to know is that you are making the right choices.
Trust your instincts and do what you feel is right. You have gotten a lot of good input from so many more knowledgeable EB parents than me. I’ve never experienced this so all I can offer is love and support.
I will be looking for a positive update on Tuesday!
Until then Stela, Harvey and I will be praying for you and Joey and sending g you both huge hugs! [emoji3590]

Hi Sue, i’m joining the thread late too but can only agree with everything already said.

It’s obvious that your doing everything you possibly can to make sure Joey is looked after, believe me you could be sendind Joey to the greatest eye specialist on the planet and you would still find something to start worrying or second guessing yourself about! Thats what we all do!

I am sure your Bully boy will be ok, sending all my love and positive thoughts :)
