Jovi
Okay so before I update wih pictures and my trip, I have something that was concerning me. So the day I got into Arizona Chris, my breeder, contacted me and sent me a picture of the puppy he kept. It looks JUST like jovi, just stocky!! I told him I was so jealous because I want Jovi to be stocky and shes so lean bahahaha. But anyways he had told me that she just developed cherry eye in both of her eyes. I know this is hereditary so can someone tell me if I should worry with Jovi? Is there any signs or way I could try to prevent it? Here is this picture of Jovi's sister. IMG_7801.jpg

I have no experience with cherry eye, but even with it being in the genes, does not mean she will have the issue

Welcome back! Just because her sister got cherry eye doesn't mean Jovi will. I bet she was super happy to have you home!

It is hereditary but some times it's just your luck. I wouldn't worry until it happens / if it happens at all :-)
Jovi looks great in the photo

Jovi looks great! I don't think there would be any way to prevent cherry eye. As stated-no sense worrying ahead, just enjoy. She may never get it. As for looks, I have two full sisters, and they are nothing alike! Jovi is young yet-she will fill out! Hope you enjoyed your Az. visit!

Jovi looks great… and I agree w/the others, I don't believe it happens necessarily because of genetics. Winston had eye issues (Entropion) but his siblings were fine… I think it has more to do w/the shape of their face, eyes, etc...

Hi and welcome back. I agree with others above, Cherry eye is both genetic and a common issue for EB's., but it doesn't mean they will automatically develop it. I have two siblings, same litter, male and female, my female Blossom developed Cherry eye at 5 months of age, and she has all the allergies, her brother Bulldozer doesn't have any of these. He also has a very different body than Blossom, she is more barrel shaped and stockier, and he has a more lean looking body, some people ask me if he's mixed with a Boxer. They are from the same litter, same parents , yet different in so many ways, even in their personalities, Blossom has way to much energy, and walks forever, Dozer is so laid back, doesn't like to walk, and is very skittish of a lot of things, he never barks, and Blossom is a whiner. Lol. They are just like skin kids, they can have the same parents, same gene pool, and same genetics, but look different, and have different personalities from each other. I wouldn't worry about it, as she may never develop it, and if she does its not dangerous and is very easy to repair, and sometimes it will go back in on its own. There never is a guarantee that we ourselves or our dogs will or will not develop something in our lives, but we can't worry about it, we can just do our best to live as healthy as possible, and do the same for our dogs, and enjoy both our lives and theirs.

im sorry i am just now responding to this!! thanks for all the advice. I wont worry unless it happens then :] And also, in the picture that is jovi's sister :laugh:I know they look so much alike!! I wish jovi was that buff hahahah

She does looks so much like Jovi! Lol. Its the same with me, Bifi's sister is also stockier than him and well he's the male!
