Still, that might be a violation of privacy... you need to look into that before your friend starts doing illegal things.. that would make you no better then the person importing and selling those puppies.. I used me as an example.. of course I would look into getting my dogs from rep breeders... Id also know a lot more before I did so.. but were talking a matter of personal information that I dont think they are going to approve of being shared. Its like when you sign up for something, and they ask you to tick the box to share your information with their affiliates or sponsors.. if you dont want spam or to have that info shared, you dont tick it and they are not allowed to share it.. if you find out they did, you could actually go after them. Its the same with people ..
Im going to give you an odd example.. (and only because its an item that someone might not want people to know about).. . say I open an online adult store under an alias.. however, I have to import stock for my online store... So, I get a huge shipment of .. ok, lets say unmentionables.. now, I can easily mask who I am online, hide my info with privacy guards.. but there only safety in shipping is my right to privacy when dealing with a company.. they are not allowed to share my information with other companies or individuals without my signed consent.. Now.. I get the shipment, and because there is a church out there fighting anything adult related online..I start getting calls and being harassed.. seems the church has a friend in the shipping department of this airport and because my stuff was in customs and had to be declared, the worker saw what was in the containers and reported it back to this person, breaking my confidentiality.
do you see where Im going with this? Yes I agree, its wrong.. but look into the laws and if obtaining this information is going to put your friend out of a job and open up a lawsuit.. If what your friend is doing is illegal, they will lose their job and be in a world of trouble along side of the airport it happened at.
Im not trying to be difficult.. but I have dealt with a lot of privacy issues.. and its not something you want to subject your friend to if its not legal.. I personally feel that just as sex offenders have to register... so should anyone bringing in a large amount of animals.. more then "THIS AMOUNT" of puppies, cats, sugar gliders, etc. Then its intent to sell, anything less and they should have to sign legal documents which states that it is a pet they intend on keeping and agree that the pet will be in their home (unable to be sold or given away) for a length of time. Of course the privacy of those who sign the pet only docs would be kept private, and not have to be registered on a public venue.
It might not keep everyone from doing something wrong, but they would have to really go out of their way to get around it.. if it costs them more money and more agitation, they are less likely to do it..
