I just noticed his fur seems lighter directly on top of his back and he has some red bumps. What could this be?!?

Duke has the same issue and basically it comes n goes. As he gets older he gets it a lot less. According to the vet checks it’s his immune system. I thought was staph but that was ruled out. Since he’s been on raw he barely has this. That being said, you probably still need a vet check to rule out staph. I do use NuStock which helps a lot!

Some almost look like scabs. Could it be mange??

You definitely need to get it checked out. It can be mange, staph or allergy. Like I said I had Duke checked out to rule out all the above.

I am going to call vet first thing in the morning! Not sure how he could’ve came in contact with Staph though?!?

I have seen something like that before on Louie. I think it was allergies.

I can believe allergies we have another one with allergy issues. The vet said he shouldn’t have an allergy test until he was 2. However, he is on appoquil. So you would think that would’ve prevented this

Looks like staph to me...
a skin scraping will tell the tale.
Demodectic mange usually starts on the face, head, or front legs of a pup...likely not mange.

probably staph infection... if he has allergies, it will lessen he immune system which causes the staph. have the vet confirm and be sure to give a good probiotic (refrigerated sauerkraut, raw goats milk, milk keifer, plain yoguart)
