My girl Martha, will be getting spayed next Friday-and having surgery on both eyes(entropion) Please say prayers for her
on that day. This is our first time dealing with ent. and don't know what to expect. I guess I will have to keep her separated somehow from the other dogs. That will probably be the hardest thing. Has anyone else had this experience? I feel very dumb, but I guess lucky that this is a first for me.

Good luck Martha! My pup had surgery on both eyes at once, although for a different reason, it's amazing how quickly they heal.
The worst part is the cone!!! I'd keep her away from the other dogs for a while to let her healing kick start and make sure no one is licking any stitches on her.

Dually had entropian surgery on both eyes and He did fine. I did not separate him from the other dogs just had to keep an eye on them to make sure the others weren't licking him. The cone was the hardest thing to deal with.

Oh Lynn, I'm so sorry to hear about Martha… of course we will be sending lots of prayers for her and you!!! I'm sure that Martha will be just fine, and yes the cone of shame is a big PITA

Will be sending lots of love and prayers to Martha, never had this surgery done but best to keep her isolated so she can heal quickly. Maybe even just a nice spot next to you on the sofa where you can make sure she's not getting her eyes licked

We have just finished our second surgery on our boy Abbott.He had a cone for a week or so and some meds but all went great.It looks more painful than it is I think.He's back to his lazy self

My Boeboe has had Entropion surgery on both eyes. She unfortunately had to have multiple surgeries to sort her issue out completely, but that's not common so I think Martha will be just fine I remember Boeboe looked pretty bad after her first surgery We had just moved and got recommended to use a vet in the new town we moved to... big mistake. I think maybe that's why she had to have several operations, the first vet messed up. She had her second operation at our regular vet and after that surgery she looked much better Will be thinking of you two<3

We will be thinking of her that day. Jewel had Etropion surgery and she did fine. We did not keep her away from the others, nor did we use the cone of shame and she did fine. The eye specialist who did the surgery did not give her one to wear. We just watched her so she would not play with the others for about a week. She did great.
