Hello, I just recently got my english bulldog 2 days ago and i just feel like he’s too skinny. any tips on how to fatten up a bit. you can see his ribs and his hip bones a bit. inserting picture for reference. EC303679-14C3-4C3B-A8A8-28A43BF9C41B.jpeg:unsure:

I agree, poor boy looks too skinny. The only suggestion I can give is to get him on a really good protein food or some members feed raw. I feed my girl Zignature catfish 1 cup breakfast, 1 cup supper and she's 56.8lbs turning 7 next month. She's definitely a healthy weight. I have no clue about feeding a raw diet, maybe other members can help more with that than I can. Don't over feed as EBD's are prone to get bloat.

Hi there n welcome!!

Yes the hip bones is a no no. You don’t want to fatten him up too fast or you’ll get other issues. Questions.... what is his age, what is he eating, quantity n how many times a day. I know it’s only 2days. If you’re going to stick to kibbles, the highest protein count is Acana n high quality. I would stick to Acana as definitely he needs protein. That being said, Orijen is the same company as Acana. I would start with orijen bag first as it’s extremely rich in calories but good calories. Once that bag is finished then go to the single protein bags of Acana. But as I said, don’t stuff him with anything n everything. Don’t add oils nor vitamins just yet as his stools will be soft n it will confuse you more. Baby steps is the key. Orijen the blue bag.

Hi and welcome to the forum. How old is he and do you know what he ate before you got him and how he developed before you got him?

Unless he has been to see a vet recently, I would take him to the vet to make sure he has no issues with parasites, etc.

He is 7 weeks old about to be 8 weeks on the 25th of March! He’s currently on Taste of the Wild smoked salmon recipe for puppies, I give him 1/3 cup 3 times a day. & okay thank you so much for your input I will definitely be looking into Acana!

Oh, he's just a tiny pup. Make sure you socialise him and, most importantly, make him feel safe and relaxed with you, since he is actually too young to leave his mother. Recommendations (regulations) are not to let pups leave their mother before 8 weeks as they need to socialise with their siblings and mum until then. Unless you know a lot about caring for young pups, check with your vet how they recommend you are for your little pup in the best possible way. I don't know what recommendations are but imagine that not leaving the pup alone but making him feel part of the pack and making sure he feels safe when he sleeps are things that vets will mention. Best of luck with your little one!

Way too young to sale. Buy the Orijen for puppies. Start him off with the puppy one as it has more ingredients n vitamins for a puppy. 3cups per day!!
