I’m confused, in here, FB or somewhere?

Such as AKC, CKC, UKC etc

Oh I see the word convo threw me off. Was thinking of conversation. Don’t ask lol

I’m in Canada but our population isn’t nowhere as big as UK or US... just a thought. Will let the others answer you.

What is the question? How we feel about registering our dogs with AKC, etc.? Neither of my boys are show dogs or bred but both are registered with the AKC.

registrations in the US are required by a lot of breeders... AKC is mostly used for showing and breeding , to show, you must be registered, but breeding all reputable breeders will register and require you to to do as well.

for the average person, it is just a personal decision by registering and not showing or breeding it really does not give you much .

It's my understanding that the Bulldog Club of America sets the standard that is followed by the AKC. The CKC, UKC, et al do not necessarily adhere to that standard. AKC requirements are much more strict than the others. Being in Bulldog rescue we don't really care about registry...if it looks like a Bulldog, and snores like a Bulldog, and farts like a Bulldog, we take it.

Hightower, sorry for the late post. If you are not showing or breeding your bulldog you do not need to register it. If you are going to show or breed you will need to register it with AKC in the US and CKC (Canadian Kennel Club, not to be mistaken with Continental Kennel Club, which is pretty much useless) in Canada. If you are going to breed or show you would have bought your pup from a reputable breeder for that reason and would have made that decision with the breeder before hand.
