Can a bully become constipated after being under anesthetic? Been watching Harlea like a hawk today and when she goes to poo it is hard like rabbit pellets. We just gave her some pumpkin a little bit ago so we are playing the waiting game to see if that help.

I would say that would be normal after any surgery… I would continue w/the pumpkin & keep an eye on her. I'm sure it will clear up soon!!!

Yes, it can happen and you did the right thing in giving her some pumpkin. She should be better tomorrow and pretty much back to normal.

Hi Todd, It is very normal to be constipated after any surgery, even for people. It can be caused by the anesthetic itself, or even the pain medications used after surgery, and also because they aren't as active after surgery. The pumpkin will help for sure, plus making sure you give extra water as well will help. Hope Harlea feels better soon, and has a quick recovery. Sending love, hugs, kisses and prayers your way.

Thank you. Her poo started to get a little better last night and this morning. Not perfect but getting better.

Was wondering how sweetie Harlea was doing...Cami & I send kisses :)

How is she now Todd? I always thought pumpkin was for diarrhea? I guess it works both ways to make them regular again? Anyway constipation after anesthesia is normal. Hope she's back to normal soon!

She is doing better. Still a bit out of sync but not straining to go anymore. Thanks for asking. Trying to keep this little fireball calm is going to be the death of me.

They are resilient, even after a surgery. Give her a big hug from us!
