Seeking advice: First time owner of a fixed male, pacific bulldog. For over 6 months now (summer and winter) he has patches of hair loss. Vet said may have been a food allergy so we switched him to a raw pork diet, and he is also currently on 7.5 mg of Prednisone. It has been several months and no real changes.

Description of hairloss is as follows:
• mainly across his back
• ranging in size, largest approx 1 can circle
• no redness
• non-greasy
• slightly dry but no real flakiness.

Anyone experience this?

My Walter had mange when he was little... started out as puppy strangles, and then his fur looked like that. Did your vet do a skin scrape? That is needed first to determine what's going on...

Agree… did the vet do a skin scrape to rule out mange Or determine it is is a staph infection?
