Why do they bark at my bully?

Does it happen to you? When I go for a walk with my bully, I find other dogs, who are walking with their owners, tend to start barking at my dog. Of course, my bully simply ignores them. What does this mean?

Some dogs will bark at other dogs b/c they are trying to be protective of their owner during the walk, or maybe they want to play, or who knows…?? It's good that you just keep walking and ignore the barking dog though. Finn barks at other dogs when we pass them during our walks and i know it's b/c he's territorial and he can be a PITA sometimes (I say this in a very loving way, btw)…When this happens I tell Finn to mind his own business and i just keep walking as calmly as possible.

I don't know why Susie but it's been discussed here before. Many dogs
that have no problems with other dog breeds tense up around bullies.
It's been suggested that the way bullies breathe may sound like growling
to these dogs. Perhaps a bullies look may intimidate, they wouldn't be the
only ones!

Well, how do you know these dogs don't react the same way to other dogs? Maybe they do. Or maybe they just have issues with dogs they don't know?
Not being argumentative- but I used to think the same thing until my husband pointed out the above to me. Now I notice how some dogs, just bark at all dogs.

So true too...just like some bullies HATE all other dogs and are never going to get along.
Dogs are like people...you got all kinds of personalities...likeable & agreeable, shy & laid
back and some real a$$holes!

In some cases -- it is just the dogs personality to bark, or bad/lack of training from the owner....
