Anybody has experience w dogs and UTIs? Izzy been trying to pee a lot. At first i thought she was trying to mark territory around the block (which she does as female alpha). But then i noticed her squatt was very low to the ground and lasted longer than usual. Just took her out again and noticed a little blood on her private parts.

Any home remedy????

Ellie has two of them, its has been my experience, that UTIs need to be treated with Antibiotics, as the can be in the lower or upper tract, My suggestion would be to get a urine sample to the vet for Confirmation that its a UTI.

Good Luck!! - Hope Izzy feels better soon

Lola used to get them all the time. The vet prescribed Clavamox.

I agree, you need to take him to the vet to confirm... usually antibiotics are prescribed so it doesn't get worse. It could be a stone, and that is absolutely miserable ( I speak from experience... Lol).

IMO she is beyond home remedy's and needs to see a vet.

Thank you all! Took Izzy to the 24 hour hospital and she is now medicated. UTI confirmed.

Thank you, yes she's already better but doing full cycle of medicine. Only reason I ask about home medicine is because I wasn't sure that would be an option. But I learned fast that antibiotics was the only way to go! 2 hours at the vet hospital and $250 later we are back on track!

After the UTI has cleared you can try to prevent it from reoccuring with cranberry pills, extra vitamin c and probiotics are always good, also for the bladder, not to mention the digestive system.

Added to my bulldog list! Thanks :)
