Sir Rumble Pig Peterson AKA Rumble
Well tomorrow morning at this time I will have already dropped my sweet little Sir Rumble Pig off at the vet or at least I am supposed to. I have told my husband that there is a good chance that I will walk in the vet and then turn around and leave with Rumble instead of leaving him!! :p I'm sure I will be more of a wreck than Rumble will be or at least I hope that is the case. We have heard great things about a bulldog specialist vet who is about an hour from our home so that is where we are taking Rumble. He gets quite excited for car rides so I am hoping this will not ruin his excitement. I expect him to be a little woozy and out of it tomorrow after the procedure and I have heard about some problems with incontinence. Is there anything else we need to be prepared for? We gave him a bath last night so he is all clean and we know to not feed him after midnight tonight. I just want to do everything possible to make this as smooth of a procedure as it can be. And of course prayers and good thoughts are welcomed!

Sounds like Rumble will be in good hands, and I will be praying for all of you!!! Keep us posted...

Sending thoughts and prayers your way for Rumbles quick recovery.

This is a hard thing to do! I dreaded it so much when it was Jake's turn. Rumble is in great hands...please let us know when you get the most wonderful call..Come get him!! :)

Prayers and positive thoughts for a successful and uneventful procedure and recovery!

Good luck.. not that you'll need it. Everything will be fine. The day stands still and the clocks seem to go back not forward. I broke my heart and was going out of my mind waiting to hear he was ok! Then when I picked him up he was happy as pie butt wiggling over to me. The hardest part is when hes back home and you have to keep him calm and quiet lol. Fingers crosses for you xx

Brutus had to stay overnight when he had his procedure. Nothing went wrong, just standard procedure for my vet. I missed him like crazy and could not wait for the next day to pick him up. Rumble will do great. It is us who needs the xanex to deal with the stress of missing our babies.

I'll be keeping everything crossed for him tomorrow .... let us know how he does!!!

As for the incontinence .. never heard of that and never experienced that either!! My main problem with both Daddy and Linus was to convince them to NOT climb everything and bounce everywhere the very next morning. Apparently those pain killers can sometimes work a little TOO well!!!

So true about the xanex! I could totally use some to get through the day tomorrow!

It is so reassuring to hear of all these good stories about our little babies having successful surgeries. I know I am just being an over worried momma but isn't that my job?? :scared: With a face like this, who would not be worried? 1082608_839543890491_1437155308_o.jpg

Rumble will be great. Sending good thoughts your way. I know how you feel though. I cried all of the way home, when I dropped Dudley off! I was a mess...my boyfriend thought I was going crazy. When we picked him up...he was just fine! Had absolutely no issues. He did sleep a lot that afternoon...and so did mommy! I had the worst headache...you would have thought I had anesthesia! But Dudley was just fine!

Well I dropped Rumble off at the vet this morning. He was not his usual self on the car ride. While he is normally very excited and looking all around, this morning he was more relaxed and even started to snore a little bit. He did look up at me with sad eyes this morning like "mom you forgot my breakfast...am I in trouble?" It broke my heart. But as soon as I got to the vet I was better than expected. We had never met this vet before but when I walked into the office, the entire place was decorated with bulldog photos, statutes, and trophies that the vet had won in his showing days. I spoke with the vet personally and he said Rumble looked great and very healthy. He said I have been doing a great job on cleaning him and it looked like he did not have any allergy problems at all. The vet loved Rumble's tail! He was so impressed he actually had a tail and that he could wiggle it! Talking to him completely calmed me down and made me feel like a great momma to Rumble. He gave me suggestions on benadryl and lemon juice incase of any problems and I already knew about it! (Mainly thanks to you great people on EBN!) But, we are just playing the waiting game now. He will be ready to be picked up after 2 and that cannot come soon enough. My husband is picking him up since I have meetings this afternoon but I will update you as soon as I can. Thank you for the prayers and keep them coming!!

Yay Rumble comes home soon! Like the others have said the hardest part of the recovery is keeping them calm. I almost phoned back the vet to ask them to prescribe Tubby some pain killers just to come him down during those first few days lol Can't wait for the news that Rumble is back home with a nicely shaved little belly :)

Here is the update. Rumble made it through okay but with a few issues. When my husband went to get him rumble was still out of it a lot and the vet thinks he had a reaction to penicillin. So now he is at home sleeping but he has been prescribed pain meds and meds for the penicillin issue. At least we know now not to give him any penicillin in the future. Once I am at my laptop I will add a picture. He was not thrilled.
