RaRett, I tried to adopt Bowser from FEBR.
As I have a pool they said no. I have had Fred, Moe, Molly all Bullies over the last ten years without issues.
Bulldogs don't float and I treat them like children around the pool.
Let me be specific. They said no unless I put in a child barrier. I have a long history of success with bullies and the pool.

I would be best with an older dog. Fred was a "bait dog" had one eye which didn't work too good......He was with me from 5yo to 10 years old. Passed in April while I was petting him. I live on 1 1/4 acres with fenced yard, no children and I am home much of the time. I have a medium-sized young hound and two cats. Cats are outside much of the time and are fine with the dog.
This guy caught my heart Florida English Bulldog Rescue. His name is Bowser, but they don't do pools w/o a fence rulesrules

Look at Bullies to the Rescue site... they are in NC but adopt out all over. Get an app submitted and see what response you get and let me know

I'm not spending $2K for something I don't need, drilling holes in my deck and ruining my backyard. I have had three bullies over the last ten years, zero issues with the pool.
I supervised my bullies. Reckon some people don't.

Sorry! I appreciate your kind efforts. I am frustrated with the rescue....it's like they are saying I can't be trusted-
I know they are volunteers trying to do their best genuinely, but doggone it! I raised three boys and three bulldogs lived their entire lives around that pool.
Didn't mean to spray you with my frustration
