Rumble's First Pool Party!

One of our friends bought a new house with an inground pool over the winter. We had one of the first real pool parties there this weekend and of course we brought Rumble. It was a perfect day with it not being too hot and a good wind breeze. When no one was in the pool Rumble didn't want anything to do with it however as soon as people got in he constantly wanted to go over and investigate so with his harness on and about four people surrounded the little step I let him put his paws on the step. Before I knew it he was trying to swim away from the step and someone in the pool was holding him. After seeing how much he liked the water, I went down the street to Petco and bought him a doggie life vest. After that he loved it and we could not keep him away from the water! We were at the pool party from 2 to 7 and as soon as we got home Rumble ate supper and then went to sleep. He slept till 7 this morning and then went to the bathroom and bate breakfast and then back to sleep. He did not really wake up until 4 this afternoon! That must have meant he enjoyed himself! Wow, Rumble looks like a natural in the water. That 3rd shot looks like he's ready to swim on his own, and I like that last shot of him "lounging" and people watching. Great pix!

Thank you! He did seem like a natural...I think it is because before we went to the party I told him that bulldogs cannot swim. He just gave me this confused look! He must be trying to prove that wrong!

He did love it! He was just a little unsure about the actual jumping in part but once he was in there he was in heaven!

Tiffany, he is adorable, and I love his markings, and he's so cute in his little life preserver too!! I'd say all that sleeping meant he had a great time, and his tuckered was hanging out !!

I got him the large size from Petco which says it is for 50 to 90 pounds. He is currently almost 8 months old and 55 pounds. He is a big boy! But it fit him almost perfectly.

Henny, I also noticed Pet-Smart has them also, if you have one of those close, as I have a Pet-Smart close but no Pet Co. not that i'm advertising for them, because i'm not, but just saying they had them also….

Petco was close to my friends house at the time. I shop at both depending on which side of town I am on as they are the same distance from my house but in opposite directions. Here is the size chart from the one I got.
