Puppy-chewing

Ok, so I am out-of-the-loop on appropriate puppy chew toys. I bought Chief a Nylabone to satisfy his chewing needs. I recently read, that there were problems with these (fragments breaking off). He will only play with his kong for about a minute and then is over it! (even with peanut butter and treats in it). Does anyone know anything about deer antlers? What about those gray hoof things? He is mostly happy when he is chewing a rawhide bone (I am with him when he does chew it, when I am not with him, I put it away). I know I know...no rawhide!

Gunny loves his deer antler. He is a very heavy chewer and they last him a very long time.

The bigger the better. I use mainly horse, and beef bone and sometimes ostrich, thigh or shoulder.

My girl likes the thick femur (I think) bones. She's been working on this one for two weeks!

Harlea loves antlers. She goes through about 1 a month. Her favorite is the big thick elk antlers, but she will have a piece of a moose paddle here pretty soon to try out. Be sure to watch them closely when they have them as antlers can break teeth and they can splinter from time to time. other than that she goes to town on her nylabones.

I've used the elk antlers, Nylabones and I'm fixing to get my pups the moose antlers for Chrismas!!!

Side note! My favorite thing in the world is a hard back copy of "A New Owner's Guide to Bulldogs" book... That Molly chewed to pieces when she was a puppy. We display it proudly on our coffee table. It's a very 'zen' statement about bulldogs... more of an art piece now then a book.
