Penny's spay surgery is in the morning

Thank you all for the hugs, prayers and kind messages! I heard from the vet and Stella is out of surgery and doing well. I can't wait to see her later.

@beachbimjen such good news she is doing well, glad to hear she is on the road to recovery.

Praying for Penny to be out of surgery soon! Any word yet?

Praying for Penny and Stella for a quick recovery. Stay strong girls! :luv:

I jumped he gun & thought I could call at 1. I had to wait until 1:30.

The tech said Penny did great & is just a little groggy. I am still set to pick her at at 4:30. Can't wait to get her home!! It's been a long morning.

Wonderful to hear all went well  ... I know you can't wait to get her home :)

I'm a little late here with my well wishes, but I'm so happy to hear that both Penny and Stella are doing good!!! Do bullies in general have a higher risk with annethesia?

& I just wanted to add that this community is awesome! Thanks for all of the love & support!

Expect her to be really, really, groggy and maybe a little sick.keep the water and food light today, it might only make her ill. She may not even want anything, don't get excited about this. She should be herself tomorrow night. You can exhale now. :whew:

MissPennyLue glad to hear she is doing well and I'm sure she will feel better once you get her home. Give a big hug from us.

How old Penny?

She's 5.5 months old. Both vets in our practice recommended between 4-6 months (prior to first heat) for females.

I saw your post above, too. I'm not 100% sure & a quick google search didn't turn up anything right away, but it's risky to anesthetize bullies b/c of their respiratory systems (narrow airway & some soft palate issues).

I am so glad to hear she did well, what a load off your mind!!
