Hello: I recently noticed this yellow hard "callous" on my boys paw. He's 5 years old and he's never had something like this. He does lick his paws occasionally but its usually always on the top and not bottom of his paw. What is this and what can I do for it to go away/heal? TIA.

This looks like it could be hyperkeratosis. Is it sort of "hairy" if you push it against the direction it's growing in? If so, that is hyp. You can get something like Musher's secret, or Paw soother, or something similar. It does not go away, but an ointment will help soften it. Sometimes it grows, and then it has to be trimmed.
