Joe my husbands most favorite NY Giants football T-shirt was in the laundry, I must have thrown a wet washcloth on top and the whole sleeve has mold spots!! Now mind you I do laundry once a week and have a total of 3 loads a week due to both of us wearing uniforms to work so therefore it has been a few days. I cant believe this happened this fast!! Any suggestions? It is the Superbowl win T-shirt of all things!! The sleeve is white. Thanks all.

Try oxyclean.

Or I found this online too

Washable Fabrics
Follow these steps to remove mildew stains from Acrylic Fabric, Cotton, Linen, Modacrylic, Nylon, Olefin, Polyester and Spandex. Most mildew stains can be removed during regular laundering if they are moistened beforehand.
If a stain remains:
Test fabric for colorfastness.
If color doesn't change, cover stain with a paste of lemon juice and salt.
On cotton and linen, make a paste from an oxygen bleach, water, and a few drops of ammonia.
Let paste cover stain for 15 to 30 minutes.
Flush thoroughly with water and launder again.

(No idea how to 'de-mold' a shirt other than washing it?)

LariP I do have oxyclean, I made a paste and have it smeared all over the sleeve letting it set, thank you for the other information, if this dosent work I will try the other. RaRett, LOL....I am NOT a football fan, but Joe is fanatical about his Giants (born and raised in NY) the last thing I need to do is start dusting and he notices the rag says Superbowl 2012 Giants!! He would kill me...LOL!!!

No idea but if that doesnt work maybe just ammonia added to the wash and some spray and wash on the stain before tossing in? If it is white you can always use a bleach marker type of pen maybe? Or... buy him a new one fast?

I know this method works on antique quilts!

Noooo, I used the Oxyclean paste and then thought I had nothing to loose so I washed it with bleach and still looks the same. I am going to try the lemon juice and salt, at this point I have nothing to loose except my life when he see's it. :scared:

I think by now the stain is set.

I hope the stain comes out (I have no advice on the removal)
But if you come up missing, we'll lead the police in Joe's direction!

LariP, Thank You so much for the link, that is on my list to do tonight when I get off work....order a new shirt, it is not the same but it still will be a shirt. I am going to show him what happened to his shirt here tonight, AFTER I have already got a new one on the way.
