New Member (HI!) New Bully Parent Confused

I know it is upsetting to see your little guy like this but he WILL get better just needs some adjusting.. and figuring out what is causing this. whatever it is you can see it is spreading..
BIG HUGS ... please keep us updated.. we are all here to help you through the bumps of owning a bully!

I agree with the above. Find a dermatologist. Do you have a school of vet. medicine in your area, that's another place to go!

good suggestion.. that is how we found Dukes dermatologist. we go to the university of Penn. it is a school for vet medicines.. they teach the students as they work on your dog. so the prices are a bit cheaper and I feel they get extra attention from the vet

We just gave our boy a bath with sulfur/lime dip (stinky rotten egg smell), cleaned his crate, his play area, removed everything except crate (no plastic bed pan and bedding) and nylabone. We are now on a mission to figure this out and find out what is triggering all this. Looking for a dermatologist in the Houston area. Would this be a vet dermatologist that I should be looking for?

:welcome:Bubba88.... is the 88 for Dale Jr.? Glad you joined EBN and I hope we can be of some help in getting your baby all fixed up. He sure is a cutie pie :D:yes:

he is so so cute!! Yes you want to find a vet dermatologist..

also just want to add. make sure you dry him super thorough when he is done in the bath .. take towels under his arms and legs .. any added moisture will add to the problem.

Poor little guy.. does it seem painful to him?? I am surprised they haven't given him some type of low dose steroid to help clear this up. ( again I am not an expert just going on what Duke went through )

one other thing that really helped us uncover things.. the dermatologist had us keep a journal.. if you change food you write it down, if you take him outside and he comes back in and things flare up you write it down .. etc.. this becomes a huge help to the vet to try to pinpoint what is going on.

things will get better but I really think you need to get him to a dermatologist who deals mainly with skin issues to help!

Looks like what Norm had when he had MRSA. Have the vet check the scrapings for that. I would find a holistic vet. That's who cleared up Normans.

Awww poor baby! I hope he gets better soon and I know your vet said he's too young for a dermatologist, but if it keeps getting worse and whatever the vet is doing isnt working...you need to see a specialist. Please post pics and updates when you figure something out! :)

What a sweet baby face he has!! Sounds like you are doing everything you possibly can to try to figure this out. I would follow the advice on here and find a vet dermatoligist. They have never steered me the wrong way on here!!

Is there any result on the fungal test? I think it's a fungal infection because my friend's dog suffers from a similar skin disease before.

I, too, am curious as to what it turned out to be. Please update us when you get the chance.
