First time letting him sleep on the couch = first time seeing his eye closed with the cherry eye. It's so sad!!! I really need to get over the counter eye drops for him. Breaks my heart! [emoji22] [emoji174]
oh wow, sorry to hear and see your baby's eye not in perfect condition. don't worry too much, though, because it's very common. it doesn't hurt them, more so an eyesore aesthetically. My Stig had to get surgery done to fix his when he was just over a year old.
have you every tried massaging it back in? how long has it been like that? usually, when it's in the beginning stages, is easier to massage it back in.
My female Blossom developed cherry eye in both eyes when she was 5 months old, but we waited until she was 7 months old and had her eyes repaired at the same time as her spay surgery. Cherry eye doesn't cause any pain to your bully, but it can get dry from being exposed to the air, and it can get irritated. We used over the counter eye drops from the pharmacy to help keep her eye moist until her surgery. The brand I uses was Refresh eye drops.
savemejeebus Thanks! Yes, both my hubby & I have tried massaging it. And, he's been to the vet who got it back in but it popped back out a few hours later. It's been like this for roughly 1 week. Vikinggirl Our vet said the same thing, he has to wait till he's old enough to get snipped in order to do the eye surgery. Refresh? Thanks!
savemejeebus We'll definitely keep trying, just didn't want to hurt the little guy. Thanks for all your help! [emoji3]
