I am a sobbing mess in the lobby of the hospital.

Matilda had a random allergic reaction and her face swelled up. It was really bad and her eyes shut. We rushed her to the vet and they think she ate a bee. They gave her Benadryl and said she was stable but then her blood pressure started dropping and now I'm crying at the vet.

Its also not her normal vet, we were at my friends house in LA.

Has this happened to any of your babies? She usually sees an EB specialist and I am a panicked wreck!!!

Please tell me she will be ok!

I would guess that eating a bee reaction would be about the same regardless of breed. So would the treatment. Hang in there, she'll be fine. they should have everything they need to deal with an allergic reaction, even an epi pen if they use those on dogs.

She's going to be just fine! I'm sure the vet will take great care of her during this emergency.

Your baby needs you to be calm though. She's probably scared too, and will be looking to you for reassurance. We'll be praying for Ms. Matilda to get well soon! PLEASE keep us informed on her condition, and we'll be right here to hold paws and hands through the process.

Oh my goodness I'm so sorry this is happening  my thoughts and prayers are with you and Matilda ... please please keep us updated on how she is!

Praying they will come and tell you she is going to be ok very soon.

Awww poor Matilda, and you, you must be a wreck. Don't worry too much though she's in the best place and has a vet looking after her , he will do what is needed to get her through this. He may not be a EB specialist, or your vet that your comfortable with, but he is a vet all the same and knows what to do. She's at the hospital , so she's in the best and safest place she can be right now, you did all you could do, and brought her there, and now you have to trust that the vet will do his job. The good thing is its an allergy, and will pass, and not a serious illness, so she will be fine. I know it's hard not to worry, but as others have said, she needs you to be strong, for her, our babies feel when we are upset, or stressed. Sending you lots of love, hugs and prayers that this passes soon, and she gets better quick. Feel better Matilda. Please keep us posted on her progress. I will check for an update later. Take care Hun and try not to worry too much.

do you have any word on Matilda? :pray2: she is ok

Thank you all for your kind words! Matilda is STABLE!

They are keeping her overnight. I got to see her and her face is still gigantic, but the swelling went down a bit and she can see again. Her lips are just very puffy and she's all covered in hives. Poor baby! She seemed okay and I kissed her puffy face so I feel better! It was just so scary when her blood pressure was dropping. I'm so glad she's okay for now.

Thank you for the update, my thoughts and prayers are with her as she stays in the hospital tonight, may she continue to get better and better so she can get back to you soon!!

Hoping she will make a quick recovery. Bullys are tough. Mimi used to eat bees or something that caused her to break out in hives. We go camping in the middle of nowhere quite often. We learned to always keep Benadryl on hand just in case. Also a small bottle of lemon juice in case they get overexcited and have problems breathing.

Poor, poor baby. I am sure she will be fine. I hope you survive the night without her! Tomorrow she will be right as rain and hopefully not as puffy.

Thank goodness! We'll keep her in our prayers tonight, and be waiting for a positive update come morning :)
