Harlea isn't a loud breather nor does she snore a lot (yet) so I haven't had to do the whole squirt a bit of lemon juice in her mouth yet. However, I was wondering if you could just add it to their water as well or does it dilute it too much to be effective in breaking up phlegm when bullies do have it?

I've only used it once, and it was to break up the phlegm while Winston was gagging the other day... It worked like a charm! I'm not really sure if you can use it on a regular basis though...

Does it have to be actual lemon juice squeezed from a lemon or will the "Real Lemon" stuff you can buy in a lemon shaped container work? Just wondering. Haven't had to do this yet, so just wanting to prepare. Thanks, Hooch's Mom

I just bought that Real Lemon squeeze bottle... Keep it in the fridge!

I've done this a few times...you squirt it right in, not diluted. If you notice you're having to clear your bully out like this a lot, you might want to search for the root cause, like allergies.

Marine91 -- yes, you can just place a few drops in the water bowl as a preventative. We did this for Nitschke for his first two years until he could have the palate reduction. it helps some, but the straight squirt as necessary is the real charm

Full strength squirt into the mouth when needed and a bit added to their water is our formula

When we remember too which isnt as often as we would like to. You could do it with every bowl if you remember too... wont hurt them.

i put a squirt in Forde's water everyday.........

Wait. What is the lemon juice used for in the first place? My pup is having palate surgery done on Monday.
