General Question How to get newborn puppies potty trained

Hi everyone, Ive read different ways in potty training 2-3 week old puppies. Id like to start potty training my puppies at an early age as it will help them and their future owners. I feel as this is my responsibility as i took on the responsibility in breeding my bulldog. This is my first litter so any advice would be accepted. I've heard of the "Misty Method" in potty training. Most reading recommend, starting as soon as puppies open their eyes, adding an area, in addition to a sleeping area, for puppies to do their business such as newspaper. Im fortunate to have a girlfriend who works at a hospital (OB Dept.) and she was able to get me the waterproof washable pads. If any of you potty train your puppies please share your experiences. Thank you!

We use a dog plat pin, and out their bedding on one side and puppy pads on the other side and they will learn to go to the puppy pads. This last litter we had were the best pups we've had that picked this up pretty fast. Once they were a little older, like around 5 to 6 weeks old, we started taking them outside. We have a fenced in backyard so don't have to worry about other dog coming into our yard and bringing in a disease. They watch the older bullies and start to learn from their example.

I too like David used the play pen method, and the older dogs are a great help, also have a fenced in yard. The sooner you teach them to go potty further and further from the bedding area and feeding area is all the more helpful. You will notice very early that they will all go to the same furthermost distance and that's your Que to move the area closer to the door leading outside

I nicknamed each puppy as to distinguish it based on a unique feature. The 2nd and 3rd photo is Patch (male) for having one eye patch. 4th and 5th is Smokey Eye (female) for having a smokey eye...its a makeup thing according to my gf.

1st and 2nd photo is Mini (female) as she is the runt of the litter. 3rd and 4th is Mo (male) for Mohawk as he has a white mohawk. 5th and 6th is Spot (male) as he has a spot on top of his head.

How soon should i set up the sleeping/playing, and bathroom area in the whelping box? Just for info, my whelping box is 5x5 as it belonged to a great dane.
