Ok, I was wondering how much benadryl I can give Miss Sassy Pant. She is 40 pounds and the 1 tablet doesn't seem to be as effective anymore.

I give violet on 25mg tablet sometimes an extra half and she's 25pounds I think its 1mg per pound

You know..you should talk to baby duke..she started using zyrtec and said it worked much better than benadryl! Just a thought..and I don't know about dosage on the zyrtec..benadryl is 1 pill for 25 lbs..

Because dogs process benadryl differently than humans you can actually give 2 mg/lb of body weight. So based upon her weight of 40 lbs you could give her 3 tablets.

Is it two?? Is the mg that much different from benadryl?? Question is how much difference it over the counter from prescription?? My skin kids are on Zyrtec prescription.

sometimes you have to try a few different types,ive tried 3 none worked ive finally found 1 that is doing its job,i give annie 60mg a day with no side affects so the dose can be prety high if needed,karen
