Noticed a spot on my baby's side a week and half ago so went to the vet. She told me it was just a bug bite. It just got bigger and bigger and today started bleeding so I took him to a different vet today and she said it is a histiocytoma. She took slide and did needle aspiration so I feel confident in her diagnosis. She said it will eventually just scab up and fall off. She did also say, however, that she's never seen one on a puppy this young (14 weeks) and even had the senior vet look and confirm her diagnosis. Should I be concerned about this? He doesn't act like it bothers him other than itching sometimes. This is what it looks like today.

It does look like one... I never seen one that big but they do take a few weeks to go away.

My bullies have gotten these, but I agree that it's bigger than I have seen before... as long as the vet has aspirated and checked it, I wouldn't worry. I would think that if it was bleeding or causing issues they would remove it. I would keep an eye on it, and make sure he doesn't mess w/it.

Thanks for the input guys :thanks: I forgot to mention that vet did think it might be infected so he's on antibiotics as well. It actually looks better today.

I haven't seen one that big either, but I would wait a few weeks and see what it does. Hopefully it does what you vet said it will do.
