Hi everyone, I found this forum whilst searching for answers to a couple of questions regarding the care of my bulldog (I will save those questions and post as topics as I think thats what I am supposed to do right?). My name is Mark and I have now had Fergie for almost 1 year now, here he is>>

I am from England but currently living in the Philippines and had no intentions of taking on the responsibility of any dog let alone such a specialist breed, I have always had labradors in the past but regardless I would not have taken a dog whilst living here as I know I have to go back home within the next year or so. Anyway, here's how it happened........An acquaintance had to leave the Philippines quickly and he had recently purchased 3 bulldog puppies from the same litter with a view to breeding them, he had no idea what he was doing and when I saw the dogs whilst visiting his house I was disgusted in their condition and environment (you can see where this is going right?) so, long story short, I took them with a view to finding good homes for them. here they are shortly after I took them>>

I was able to find very good homes for the 2 girls but couldn't part with them all and ended up keeping the boy and I have to say this breed of dog is something else, he's more like a human than most humans I know! We had a shaky start as he was underweight and diagnosed with a blood parasite which fortunately he made a full recovery from and he is now tested regularly for it and his health and fitness are excellent.
He makes me laugh everyday, loves to walk, swim and play. He also loves to sleep and can snore louder than my dad and thats no mean feat let me tell you.
I've joined this forum to try and gain as much help and info about his care as possible, here in Cebu, Philippines I have been unable to find a bulldog specialist vet (although his vet is by far the best one here) and I have often had to do research myself and "suggest" a diagnosis which is how I came across this site whilst researching "pano". I also now have to fly him to the UK which is a major worry but as I said earlier I will post these questions under a new topic as I don't think this is the right place for it.
Needless to say, I am now totally in love with the breed and Fergie in particular and want him to live as long and healthy life as possible, he is fed on hills science diet vetessentials which he seems to be doing very well on, he also has nutri-plus gel and glucosomine supplements, the one thing he isn't is greedy, which I believe is strange for bulldogs. We walk 4 times a day, long walks in the morning and at night and two short walks through the day as it is very hot.
He will be 2 in November and weighs 23 kilo so I think he is in very good shape but any tips on his care will be greatly appreciated.
I hope I have done this correctly and thank you in advance for this opportunity and any advice received, heres some more pictures of Fergie (named after Sir Alex Ferguson).
